:iconupdateplz: 2/03/17: Mandibles are back and better than ever! Also touched up and fixed a couple of areas. I currently only have one segment left to do before the entire top is complete, so hopefully I'll be able to post that soon.

:iconupdateplz: 1/30/17: Welp, I ran into a design dead-end with the version I was working on, so I scrapped it and started from scratch. So now here is the newest version, with the red coloration this time around. Mandibles are not included as I am completely reworking them. They'll probably be more centipede-pincer like when finished. Also decided that 384 segments was way, WAAAY too many, so I edited the text below with new measurements. It's still probably too big, so I'll probably make a smaller version after this is done to try and fix that (Although considering how long this one is taking I might die of frustration before finishing it)

So it's been several months since I posted an update of this guy, partially because I haven't worked on him much since switching to Linux, but still. So I thought I would post a little teaser to show current progress. The tongue (named "King Worm" during first part of the battle) is complete! I'm currently working on the body segments and the gun... things... on either side of them. So far only the top part of the segments have been completed. I'm actually having trouble coming up with a good design for the sides and bottom... Suggestions are highly welcome. For the teaser I went with the green (cursed flame) coloration, since I like the coloration more than the red. The mandibles were also included, although technically they don't come out until his HP falls below half.

In total there are 7̶ 6 different body segment sizes, although the size is purely aesthetic. I made the segment sizes a bit more, er, subtle, than the last version, only increasing the size by 5% each. The gun/cannon things are the same size, however, as are the eye/probes. The segment formula is as follows:

H = head
V̶S̶ ̶=̶ ̶v̶e̶r̶y̶ ̶s̶m̶a̶l̶l̶
S = small
MS = medium small
M = medium
ML = medium large
L = large 
H = huge
W = wing segment (may not use this in the end)
T = tail

1 H, 5̶ ̶S̶, 5 MS, 5 M, 4 ML, 3 L, 2 H, 1 W, 10 H, 15 L, 20 ML, 25 M, 30 MS, 35 S, 1̶0̶5̶ ̶V̶S̶, 1 T, a total of 3̶8̶4̶ ̶ 157 segments in all! (Not including the tongue[s]). This would make him by far the largest entity in the game. Considering he would wrap himself around the player[s] to trap them into an enclosed area during the fight (the outside segments acting like solid blocks) being longer actually plays a vital role in the battle. Unlike the regular Destroyer, who's length works against it, the TDoW's length would likely work to his advantage, as the segments are farther apart and therefor harder to do collective damage. 

Now, like I said in the head spritesheet, I would really, really like some feedback/criticism on this, specifically in the following areas:
:bulletred: size: This is the biggest (heh) concern I have. Is this too large? Should I shrink it down somewhat, say maybe to 75% this size? I need to know before I get started on the body/wings.
:bulletgreen: complexity: Are there to many working parts? should I tone it down? 
:bulletred: mistakes: Are there any mistakes in the sprite work? do things not line up properly?
:bulletgreen: texture: Does the texture look ok? Do I need to go back and smooth it out or roughen it up at all?
:bulletred: clarity: is it clear at all whats going on, or do I need to tweak it at all to make it more understandable?
:bulletgreen: mandibles: should I just ditch these? They are supposed to come out once the hp falls below 1/2 and inflict MASSIVE damage+the bleeding debuff if touched (melee players with high defense would be able to withstand it better, it'd be the rangers/mages with lower defenses that would suffer). This does not mean they are actually necessary though, and I'd like to know if I should drop them.
